Minutes of the Meeting between ZO UZO IKEA Stores ČR and IKEA Česká republika, s.r.o. 24.9.2025

15/10/2025

Date of meeting: September 24, 2025
Time: 1:00–3:00 p.m.
Place: IKEA Černý Most

Participants:
For the Trade Union Organization UZO IKEA stores CZ: David Polák, Jakub Lacika
For IKEA Česká republika, s.r.o.: Eva Hrachová, Christelle Maes

1. Meeting with Christelle Maes

During the meeting, the participants were introduced to Christelle Maes, who joined in September as Co-worker Experience Manager. This position oversees at the regional CZHUSK level the following areas: Reward & Benefits, People Planning, Equality, Diversity & Inclusion, Meet & Travel, and Co-worker Relations.

Both the trade union representatives and Christelle had the opportunity to establish contact, meet in person, and share their mutual expectations regarding future cooperation.

2. Catering for EMPU

The trade union organization presented proposals to improve the delivered meals for co-workers working at external warehouses, where they do not have direct access to the canteen. Both parties discussed the following points, which the company will implement as soon as possible. The company will inform the trade union organization about specific implementation dates.

  • Portion size: The size of the portions will be adjusted to the maximum possible, depending on the size of the transport container.

  • Choice of side dishes: This option will not be available at this time.

  • Meal ordering deadline (currently 3 days in advance): This period will be shortened to the shortest possible time.

  • Certain meals will not be offered for delivery (e.g. fried cheese, meat with fresh herbs) because reheating negatively affects their appearance and taste.

The company and the trade union also discussed the possibility of offering breakfast menus for employees working night shifts. Both sides will return to this topic during upcoming meetings.

3. How to address or report inappropriate behaviour

The trade union organization asked the company to summarize the procedure employees should follow if they encounter inappropriate or uncomfortable behavior from another co-worker or leader (e.g. harassment).

  1. The first step is to tell the colleague directly that their behavior is inappropriate or makes the person uncomfortable.

  2. If the situation does not change, or if the employee does not wish to communicate directly with the person involved, the next step is to contact their immediate manager.

  3. The next level is to communicate and address the situation with the unit P&C (People & Culture) department.

  4. Employees can also report the incident through the Trust Line (via the anonymous SPEAK UP web application or by calling 800 050 833 with access code 118298).
